35th ANNIVERSARY FOR HAMBLETON HALL ON RUTLAND WATERMay 20 2016
Revisit one of Britain’s finest country house hotels 2 hrs north of London
[Hambleton, Oakham. 3rd June 2015] What did we do to relax before spas? Traditional “R&R” meant taking a break from the usual pre-occupations, packing a few novels and preparing for long walks through the countryside. Comfort and pleasure could be arranged by staying overnight in one of Britain’s finest country house hotels to guarantee top level hospitality and exquisite food and wine.
Fast forward 35 years and owner Tim Hart has been providing this exact experience to legions of Brits who are consistently overwhelmed by the hotel’s commanding position overlooking Rutland Water in England’s smallest county. In the area there is so much distraction to choose from that 2 nights is never enough! For a full list see here: www.hambletonhall.com/things-to-do-around-hambleton-hall
Rail and road links have improved dramatically during this time, and the fastest way to reach Hambleton is by train from London Kings Cross and St Pancras to Peterborough and Kettering (50 minutes) plus a 30 minute taxi from the station to the hotel or another train from Peterborough to Oakham then a 10 minute taxi.
Tim Hart has an enviable team in place to ensure a short break at Hambleton Hall exceeds expectations. Probably the first person you will meet on arrival is general manager Chris Hurst who personally greets each new guest and tends to their arrangements in the hotel and outside. Everyone chooses to eat in Hambleton’s restaurant on at least one night of their stay to sample Michelin-star chef Aaron Patterson’s brilliant, assured cooking. This is matched by the unparalleled sommeliership of Dominique Baduel.
Hambleton Hall is running two interesting packages to coincide with the 35th anniversary:
